From its home in New England comes this attractive specimen of the American Derringer M1 Pistol. From its 057000 range serial number, we estimate it was manufactured in 1987. Manufacturer was American Derringer Corp. Type is Remington style Over and Under Single Action Two Shot Derringer. Rotary sear is not selective. Construction is entirely steel metal, with polished stainless finish and walnut grip panels. Chambering is .45 Colt and 2 1/2 inch .410 shells interchangeably, two shot capacity. Barrel is one piece investment cast steel tip-up, with approximately 1/2 inch of six groove right hand rifling for the Long Colt cartridge. It will Not chamber a 3 inch shotshell. Extractor is one piece side mounted. Sight is barrel integral blade front, with fixed notch rear milled into the pivot lug. Release lever is extended serrated tab, and requires depression from the left side screw head. Trigger is .270 smooth face, with matching serrated spur hammer. Trigger pull is two stage 10 pound vicinity. Safety mechanism requires engagement upon closing the breech, and disengages itself automatically when the hammer is cocked. Overall length is 4 7/8 inches, and height is 3 3/4 inches. Thickness at the grip panels measures 1.28 inches; .915 frame thickness; and .670 external diameter of the barrels. Weight empty is 14 1/2 ounces, with center of gravity at the breech face. Surface detractions on this M1 are moderate, principally faint amounts of scouring on its right side, on the muzzle, and on the grip panels. We rate this derringer as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate it has been fired fewer than 100 times. Replacement pricing on this pistol is over $500 in our area. We’re offering the Reagan Era MC1 in the photos, however, for only $ 359.00.
