Here is the most evolved form of the pistol that began the revolution in semi-auto handguns 30 years ago, the Beretta 92A1, F series. At press time on this ad, it was NOT on the state rosters for California or Massachusetts, so no civilian buyers from those jurisdictions. The 92A1, writes the factory, represents Beretta's evolution of the world famous 92FS pistol, the most tested and trusted personal defense weapon in history. The 92A1 features an internal recoil buffer, a captive recoil spring assembly, a rounded trigger guard, an integral MIL-STD 1913 rail, and a removable frontsight. Manufacturer is Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A. of Gardone, Italy. Importer and warrantor is Beretta USA of Accokeek, Maryland. Construction is steel barrel, slide, and working parts fitted into a 7075 lightweight alloy frame. Finish is non glare weather resistant Brunitron. Barrel is 5 inch Government size, six groove rifling with 1:9.84 twist rate. Sights are dovetailed front and rear, 3 white dot configuration. Frame is rail type, with two slot, center groove Picatinny for light attachment. Chambering, of course, is 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9x19, 9mm NATO, call it what you will, THE 9mm. This 92FS comes with a total of two ACT-Mag 17 shot magazines, so fully loaded capacity 17+1 with the original magazine. Safety system consists of an internal firing pin safety to guard against accidental discharge if the pistol is dropped, together with a slide mounted ambidextrous main safety that functions as a decocker. Trigger is .340 smooth faced combat, 10 pound vicinity with 1 1/8 inch travel on double action, and two stage 4 pound vicinity on single action with negligible felt creep. Extreme overall length is 8 5/8 inches from the muzzle to the grip frame strut. Grip frame is serrated fore and aft, 1.03 thick and tapering to .73 at the front of the frame. Slide is serrated rear, 1.15 thick. Guide rod is capped polymer. Trigger guard is classic round face. Weight empty is 33.8 ounces, about 40 ounces loaded. This specimen is what we call a factory demo. It likely served as a law enforcement rep’s sample. From its CF frame marking, it is a first year production specimen, made in 2010. It comes in a factory box with factory cable lock, magazine loading tool, Beretta Safety brochure, factory inspection certificate and instruction manual, with a total of two magazines as we have noted above. Surface detractions are only moderate, principally scouring on the trigger guard. We rate it as Very Good, 85 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. From the absence of any slide contact wear to the barrel, or any brass residue to the slide face, we do not believe it has been fired more than 50 times, if at all. Replacement pricing on this pistol is $700 or more in our area. We’re offering the Beretta 92A1 F in the photos, however, for only $ 569.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California or Massachusetts. For any civilian buyers in Connecticut, D.C., Hawaii, Maryland or New York, we will be glad to sub one factory or Mec-Gar Beretta 10 shot 92 magazine for the two high caps.
