Just as Glock revolutionized the handgun market in the 1980s, Springfield Armory has emerged as the clear leader in the past few years with their XD, Extreme Duty, line of pistols. Photos show an attractive specimen of the XD in .40 S&W, Service Size Variant. Factory Code is XD9109LE. Type is striker fired semi-automatic blowback action pistol. Manufacturer is HS Produkt of Karlova, Croatia. Exclusive importer is Springfield Armory of Geneseo, Illinois. Construction is steel frame, barrel, and internal parts, with polymer frame and trigger housing. Springfield Armory's words about their wildly popular pistols are short and sweet: Point and shoot ergonomics. Fully hammer forged barrel. Easy no tool disassembly. Ambidextrous magazine release. Internal parts forged/machined from Billet. Visual/tactile loaded chamber indicator and striker status indicator. Grip safety. Diamond hard melonite finish. This pistol's frame incorporates a Picatinny Weaver-type rail. Other Factory specs are semi auto pistol, caliber .40 S&W Parabellum; 4 1/2 inch barrel; Black Polymer frame; weight empty without magazine is 32 oz; sights; matte blue steel slide, barrel, magazine release and grip safety; two 13 round stainless body magazines. Sights are factory Night Sights, made by Trijicon for Springfield Armory. This pistol comes to us from law enforcement service with the Dover, MA Police Department. Surface detractions are moderate, principally surface wear to the slide. We rate it as Very Good, 75 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate it has been fired fewer than 300 times. It does not have its manual or fired brass, but from its US490000 range serial number it was manufactured in 2005; and buyers may download manuals at springfield-armory com. Replacement pricing on an XD in our area is $600 or more. We’re offering this one, however, for only $ 339.00. Not transferable to civilian buyers in California, the District of Colombia, or Massachusetts.
